Elaine is a licensed psychotherapist and has spent the last couple years at a higher level of care here in the South Bay working with those struggling with eating disorders. Passionate about the healing process, she is working towards becoming a certified eating disorder specialist (CEDS) and has sought out additional training in Brainspotting. She received her bachelor’s degree in liberal arts with an emphasis in psychology and business from Marymount California University. After obtaining her degree, she worked in the real estate industry for a number of years, holding roles in sales and marketing. From there, her personal experience with an eating disorder led her to pivot, pursuing her master’s degree in clinical psychology from Antioch University. Elaine’s clinical practicum took place at Clear Recovery Center in Hermosa Beach, where she worked with co-occurring clients dealing with substance abuse and mental health issues. Primarily using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic-infused approaches in her practice, Elaine works to meet clients where they are in their stage of recovery. Elaine brings a calmness to her clients, while being able to challenge them towards their own recovery.
